Unoa Chibi Headback

This is a secondary market headback to fit the Chibi Unoa, Unoa girl and Boy face-plates, allowing them to be put on ANY body that you wish. The faceplates are easy to obtain, but the Unoa bodies are not. The Chibi Unoa bodies are also an odd size, making it so that they cannot share clothes with other MSDs. Now you can make any size you like. The part was handsculpted by Buff, and then professionally refined and cast by Fantasy Doll. The look and feel of the part is entirely professional, and the resin color match is very close.

Front view, piece only. Below, side view, and comparison with other available and formerly available headbacks.

The order in the picture from left to right is Buff, Unoa, Amaeta and Kaye Wiggs.

The use of the headback with a Roran faceplate on a Unoa body is shown below. The use of the silly band in the groove at the top is NOT NECESSARY. The headplate firmly and securely attaches without thinking about budging, but the groove can be useful for putty, or rubber band, to hold on wigs. Shown are the head up, head down and side tilt angles on this body. She has a nice sized dome to aid in wigs staying on, and to provide a very nice fit for 6-7 size wigs, though in some company wigs or wigs with a non-stretchy cap, 5-6 may fit better.

Shown below with a Unoa B-El faceplate on a Unoa body. The boy plate fits perfectly fine, though there is no anchor at the top. It is still pretty secure, especially with a wig on, but some putty at the top would be recommended. There is faint gapping at the top.

Shown here with a Lusis faceplate on the Minifee body. There seems to be slightly more gapping at the top and a faintly looser fit to the plate. I would recommend putty. The minifee body in these pictures HAS NOT been modified. Some head angles result in being able to see the rim of the neck. Modification of the headback is possible as the resin is thick, so you could take a dremel to a $30 part rather than to a body that costs $300, if you were unhappy with the fit.

Roran plate on the same body. It works a little less well, because the faceplate has a shorter face.

Here is the faceplate and headback on a Luts Kid Delf body.

Here the face-plate is shown on a Volks YOSD body. I know there are people who will want to do this, and its definitely possible to make it work. The headback is too big, but not wildly awful looking.

Below is an account of the sculpting process. :)

Finishing the piece as far as I can go:

At this point, the piece was mailed to Fantasy Doll, and they cast it in resin, and then did some smoothing to the resin piece to give it a very professional look. These are the most recently received photos. I sent them my faceplate as well so that they could test the fit and match the resin shade.
